Virgin River Family Pays Tribute to Actor Following Shocking Passing 😍😍
After years of emotional chaos in Virgin River, Mel and Jack are finally getting a chance to slow down.
Speaking during the Season 7 Founder’s Day finale celebration, Alexandra Breckenridge revealed that one of the most exciting parts of filming the Mexico honeymoon storyline was seeing the couple exist without constant drama surrounding them.
“What I’m looking forward to the most is just having Mel and Jack be Mel and Jack without all of the other day-to-day problems that they have,” the actor joked, before adding that the series contains “a cacophony of issues” despite its reputation as a comfort show.
The honeymoon storyline was filmed in Tulum, Mexico, shortly after production wrapped in Vancouver. A smaller group of cast and crew members stayed behind to travel internationally and shoot the special episode.

Even though Mel and Jack continue balancing enormous responsibilities — including building a home, running a medical clinic and bar, managing a farm, and discussing adoption — the couple still finds time to celebrate their relationship.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith admitted the Mexico production came with several logistical challenges, but the trip ultimately became a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

“It was a really special trip,” Smith said, describing the cast and crew as a close family whose bond became even stronger during filming.
With stunning beach scenery and rare moments of happiness for the beloved couple, the Mexico storyline may become one of Virgin River’s most memorable chapters yet.
