A new EMT is heading into town for Virgin River Season 8.

Netflix’s long-running romantic drama has officially cast Mitchell Slaggert in a major recurring role as Eddie, a charismatic first responder who quickly becomes part of the community as production begins on the new season in Vancouver.

Eddie is described as a laidback and adventurous personality who never expected to fall for small-town life. However, his natural warmth and curiosity could make him one of Virgin River’s newest fan favorites.

Because of his EMT background, Eddie will likely interact with many of the show’s central characters, including Mel, Doc, Kaia, and Brady — assuming Brady recovers after the shocking Season 7 finale accident.

The role also continues Slaggert’s growing television career following appearances in Landman and HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Season 8 is expected to continue exploring the themes of “sacrifice and rebirth” teased by producers earlier this year.
