DAYS Just Revealed the Most Dangerous Version of Marlena Yet. A shocking dark side emerges on Days of our Lives! đ„ Grief-stricken Marlena delivers a ruthless ultimatum to Xander, abandoning her morals to protect family. Has Salem’s conscience changed forever after John’s death? đ±
On Days of Our Lives, Marlena served as Salemâs conscience for years. When people lost their way, she was usually the one helping them find it again. Thatâs why her conversation with Xander felt so startling. She didnât just suggest he drop the lawsuit against Johnny. She essentially told him that if he wanted to keep her as his therapist, heâd better make the problem disappear. Xander called it extortion. The uncomfortable part is that he wasnât exactly wrong.
Johnâs Death May Be Changing Marlena
Itâs easy to look at Marlenaâs (Deidre Hall) ultimatum and focus on its ethical implications. But the more interesting question is why Marlena suddenly seems willing to cross lines she spent decades defending.
Johnâs (Drake Hogestyn) death has clearly left a mark. Sheâs grieving, sheâs angry, and sheâs watching people she loves get hurt. Johnny (Carson Boatman) was close to John, and from Marlenaâs perspective, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) helped create a situation that put Johnny through hell. For perhaps the first time in a long time, Marlena isnât approaching the situation like a psychiatrist. Sheâs approaching it like a wife who lost her husband.
The giveaway came when Xander pointed out the fallout. Roman (Josh Taylor) would never forgive Kate if this arrangement became public. Marlenaâs response was brutally simple: âNot my concern.â That doesnât sound like the Marlena who usually worries about everybody elseâs feelings before her own.
Salemâs Moral Compass Is Starting to Point Somewhere Else
Whatâs fascinating is that Marlena wasnât yelling or threatening. She stayed calm the entire time. She had already made her decision before Xander walked into the room. The conversation wasnât really a negotiation. It was the terms and conditions.
