Netflix’s beloved romantic drama has officially added Landman and The Sex Lives of College Girls actor Mitchell Slaggert to Season 8 in a major recurring role. The announcement comes as production gets underway in Vancouver for the upcoming season.

Slaggert will play Eddie, a charismatic EMT described as a laidback charmer with a deep curiosity about life. According to the official character description, Eddie may “fix your soul along with your body,” making him an instant fit for the emotional world of Virgin River.

While details about Eddie’s storyline remain under wraps, fans are already speculating about possible connections to Mel, Doc, Kaia, and Brady following the dramatic motorcycle crash in the Season 7 finale.

And because this is Virgin River, romance is almost certainly on the horizon.

Slaggert is no stranger to romantic storylines. He previously appeared opposite Pauline Chalamet in The Sex Lives of College Girls and starred in the Lifetime movie A Carpenter Christmas Romance.
