Sister Wives Bombshell: Meri Brown finally reveals what destroyed her relationship with Robyn! đ±đ
How Sister Wivesâ Meri Brown Felt Watching Kody Brown Have Kids Amid Her Fertility Struggles
Perhaps Meri Brown and former sister wife Robyn Brownâs love wasnât meant to be divided. But, as Meri revealed on the fourth and final part of Sister Wivesâ One-on-One special Feb. 1, she and her former bestie arenât exactly swapping secrets anymore.
âShe and I had a good relationship, everybody saw it,â Meri detailed to host Sukanya Krishnan. âBut, you know, that just kind of over the years, disintegrated. There was a lack of trust.â
Namely, âI would have conversations with her,â Meri continued. And while she assumed those talks held a certain amount of privacy, âOther people would find out.â
This was most apparent to the 55-year-old as she embarked on a virtual flirtation with an Internet stranger in 2015.
At the time, the mom to 30-year-old Leon was looking for a bit of attention. Instead, as she later discovered, she became entangled in a catfishing scandal, with her online pen palâan Oklahoma-based woman named Jackieâeventually âcoming after me,â Meri detailed, âand kind of coming after us, like, us as a family.â
With the whole broodâincluding Kodyâs then-second and third wives Janelle Brown and Christine Brownâliving on their Las Vegas cul-de-sac at the time, âRobyn would come over and talk to me about it,â Meri shared. âAnd I would tell her whatâs going on. But then other stuff would happen and other stories would be out there.â
The way Meri saw it, those conversations became bait for her online paramour-turned-enemy.
âThere were times that I would have a conversation with Robyn that the catfisher would find out about,â said Meri, noting that Robyn and Jackie shared a friend. âI donât believe that she did it intentionally to hurt me. I think she did it to try to help the situation, but she kept making it worse.â
But Robyn insisted she was the only one of Meriâs sister wives working to improve the situation.
âAll I know is that she was having a conversation online about flowers and texting and music and flirting,â the mom of five recounted. And hearing that, said Robyn, had her pushing Kody in Meriâs direction. âI was like, âShe is struggling, get your butt over there. Figure this out with her,â she noted. âThatâs what I was doing, OK?â
So, she took extreme offense to Meri suggesting she wasnât there for her.
âSheâs sitting her saying that she canât trust me because of this or that, the other,â Robyn marveled. âI had her freaking back, OK? I was sitting there watching everything that was happening and I was worried about her.â
That fear led her to have a come to Jesus moment with Kody.
âI was saying, âShe kicked you out? You go stay in another room. You have the conversation with her. You donât come over here. You go work it out with her. Sheâs being taken advantage of,’â Robyn recounted of her chat with Kody. âI was like, âYou get your butt over there and you talk to her. You work this out.’â
Similarly, Robyn stressed, she was questioning Meri about her choices.
âI was talking to her: âWhat is this? What is this conversation youâre having? Why are you talking to this person?’â Robyn recalled. âI was being open with both of them.â
Years later, she noted, she has nothing to hide. âIf she wants to say somehow I did something wrong there, that is fine,â Robyn insisted. âI donât have a problem with that because I know what my intentions were.â
Of course, Meri and Robyn arenât the only Sister Wives stars giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at past storylines. Keep reading to check out what other truths the cast has shared this season.

Meri Brown and Janelle Brown Helped Pay for Robyn Brownâs House
Part of the reason the Coyote Pass sale got so hairy was that the family hadnât taken care of what happened in Vegas.
When Meri sold her five-bedroom Sin City home, she handed over the profits so that Robyn could purchase her five-bedroom spread in Arizona, with Janelle chipping in as well.
From there, Meri detailed on the Jan. 18 One-on-One special, âThey bought the house that was for them and then, you know, it doubled in value when they sold it. Yay, them.â
Which is when she and Janelle made clear that their loan wasnât exactly on the house.
And so when it came time to sell their land in Arizona, âThere was agreements that hadnât been settled,â Kody detailed. âJanelle and Meri had gifted money to me and Robyn to purchase Robynâs house. Meriâs house, the proceeds from her house in Las Vegas, were half mine, OK? And so they wanted their 25 percent of Coyote Pass, but I had put extra money in it. And they wanted to be paid back for their gift for Robynâs house, but I hadnât been compensated. And we couldnât negotiate.â
They were able to strike a deal with Janelle, Robyn noted. âShe said 100 percent we were square with her, but Meri hadnât.â
Still, Kody insisted Meriâs payday was coming. âMeri will get paid,â he swore. âEverybody is going to have their money and Iâm going to be bitter because they sat there and just sât talked me the whole time.â

Robyn Brown Insists Meri Brown âBurned So Many Bridgesâ in Their Relationship
The friction between once-close Robyn and Meri isnât exactly water under the bridge. Asked why she felt she didnât tell her former friend that Kody and Janelle were potentially planning a deal behind her back, Robyn told Sukanya on the Jan. 18 special, âIâm not going to sit there and be disloyal to Kody.â
Had she and Meri remained tight, âThen that could be something to say to me,â Robyn added, âbut not now. She has burned so many bridges with me and I donât know why.â
The issue, Robyn surmised, is Meri is âsitting there trashing me and I donât even know what the problem is.â All of a sudden, she continued, there friendship was gone. âI donât know what happened,â Robyn swore. âI donât know why itâs different. She just all of a sudden was angry at Kody. So somehow Iâm lumped into that.â

Kody Brown Watched Ex Christine Brownâs Wedding to David Woolley
Turns out even Kody said âI doâ to seeing his former bride marry her now-husband in October 2023.
âI watched their wedding,â he admitted on the Jan. 18 episode. âAnd I was smiling through the entire thing almost. It was fun to see Christine in a great spot. Itâs sort of kind of her dream come true.â

Janelle Brown Is Considering a Spiritual Divorce From Ex Kody Brown
Officially done with former husband Kody Brown (and his nice pecs and six-pack abs), Janelle Brown revealed in Sister Wivesâ season 20 opener that sheâs borrowing a page from Meri Brownâs playbook.
Never legally entwined to Kody during their 29-year marriage, âI had sort of thought about a spiritual divorce a long time ago and didnât even realize it was an option,â the patriarchâs second wife detailed on the Sept. 28 premiere. âAnd so when Meri got one, Iâm like, âOh, hey, Meri, who do I call?’â
And her former sister wifeâwho was granted a spiritual release from their former church on the grounds of abandonmentâwas more than happy to fill in some blanks. Said Janelle, âShe has been kind of helping me get in touch with everybody.â

Madison Brush Would Like to Reconcile With Dad Kody Brown
Madison Brush is still working through the sins of her father. Amid her ongoing estrangement from dad Kody, Madisonâthe second oldest of his and Janelleâs six kidsâadmitted on the Sept. 28 episode that sheâs still struggling with the separation.
âYou want your dad to show up,â the mother of four shared in a confessional alongside husband Caleb Brush. âYou want reconciliation. I know I played a part and Iâm angry because Iâm still trying to learn to not be disappointed.â
Itâs a lesson sheâs struggling to master. âIâm still learning how to just see him for who he is,â she noted. âIâm trying to understand that maybe he didnât know how to show up. He might be hurting.â
He also might not be willing to cede too much ground.
Kody stressed his desire to have healing with Meri, Janelle, third wife Christine Brown and their children, explaining, âI think weâre in an impasse here because this healing can only happen on their terms only.â

Kody Brown Has This Concern About His Sex Life With Wife Robyn Brown
To hear Kodyâs fourth and sole remaining wife Robyn Brown tell it, she always wanted the family, not just the man. âI had marriage proposals,â she revealed on the Sept. 28 episode. Not necessarily an on-bended-knee situation, she noted, just âdifferent men at different times said, you know, âIâd marry you in heartbeat.’â
Her response never wavered: âI was just like, âWell, I plan to live a plural marriage.’â And had Kody been single when he pursued her, rather than a devoted family man with three wives, âI would have said the same thing to you.â
But now that they find themselves as unintentional monogamists, asserted Kody, âItâs you and me, baby.â
Though he admittedly had one concern.
âThereâs something I want maybe more than you do,â Kody told Robyn, alluding to their sex life. The way he saw it, Kody continued in a confessional, âA polygamist is getting more than he wants and a monogamist isnât getting enough.â

Meri Brown Reveals an Ex Broke Up With Her Over Her Polygamous Past
Throwing herself into dating, Meri knows precisely what sheâs looking for in a man: In addition to a tall guy, âsuper important for me is to find somebody who wants to travel with me,â the avid road-tripper explained in the Oct. 5 episode. âAnd also must not have cats. Must love dogs.â
And she definitely needs someone who wonât scare easily.
âThere was a guy that I was talking to,â she detailed of one of her more troubling dating adventures. Once he discovered she was a polygamist, âHe was like, âI canât continue talking to you. This is not something that Iâm even interested in or open to,’â she shared. âAnd it was very hurtful to me. Because I was a polygamist, youâre not interested in pursuing a relationship with me?â
For Meri, she continued, âIt was like my first real big realization that thatâs going to inhibit some people from even wanting to start talking to me.â

Janelle Brown Thinks No One Else Really Wanted to Live on Coyote Pass
Janelle is convinced she was the only member of her sprawling fam who truly wanted to land on Coyote Pass.
Discussing the familyâs standoff over the 14-acre property they purchased ahead of their 2018 move to Flagstaff, Ariz., Janelle admitted on the Oct 3 episode, âIâm not actually sure I ever had the dream of us all being out on Coyote Pass.â
Because while Kodyâs second wife could imagine herself settling out thereââItâs a beautiful piece of property, why not?ââshe alleged that it was more of a passing phase for her ex and his other brides.
âNobody really wanted to live out there,â she said, adding that Christine definitely didnât and Meri would have obliged âif everybody else had done it.â
As for Kody and Robyn, they âhad a house that was pretty much there without being there on the property,â Janelle surmised of the two-acre, five-bedroom spread they have since sold for $1.7 million.
So as much as they all howled over the land they initially split into four separate parcels, said Janelle, âI just could see very soon after we moved to Flagstaff that that was not going to be a thing.â

Why Kody Brown Thinks He Has a Strained Relationship With âMostâ of His Adult Kids
Kody has a theory about why his bonds with the majority of his adult kids (save for Robynâs eldest Dayton, Aurora and Breanna) are kinda garbage.
âI think most of the relationships between me and my adult children are strained,â he acknowledged on the Oct. 5 episode. âItâs an issue of trash talk and innuendo, and it has challenged loyalties and trust on all sides.â
And these days, not many of his grown kids are on Team Kody.
Though Mykelti Padronâone of his six children with Christineâhad been the most outwardly supportive of her father, months after she and husband Tony Padron made the move to North Carolina with their three children, she gave her take on the rift.
âI think that if he took more accountability in any of his actions, his kidsâmaybe not all of them, but at least some of themâwould reach out,â she noted during an October 2024 fan Q&A shared on the Instagram account @withoutacrystalball. âInstead of blaming the children, or blaming how they feel about his relationship with his other wife or blaming the parents or blaming gossip or whatever, if he just said, âLook, I understand I did blank wrong. Iâm sorry. Can we talk about it?â I feel like that would go such a long way.â
Janelle Brown Admits She Would Have Taken Half of Kody Brownâs Assets
With the April 2025 sale of Coyote Pass, Janelle and Meri walked away from their marriage to Kody with a nice parting gift. (Christine had already signed over her portion of the land in exchange for keeping the proceeds from the sale of her Arizona home.)
As Janelle joked to Meri on the Oct. 5 episode, it was âa nice way to just be like, âSee you later. Hope I never see you again. Goodbye.’â
But she certainly wouldnât have waved off an even nicer present.
Had she been âlegally married to Kody,â she noted, she absolutely would have taken half of his assets âbecause it would have been half mine.â

Kody Brown Agreed to Sell Coyote Pass for This Reason
Before Kody and Robyn agreed to close the door on their Coyote Pass dreams, they had to open, not a window, but the contract on their new $2.1 million manse. After months of going back and forth with his exes about unloading the massive property, âSelling Coyote Pass became a reality for us,â Kody detailed in the Oct. 12 episode, âonly when we, we discovered we really wanted this other house.â
The dad of 18 is also eager to unload the bad memories of their previous home. âWeâve experienced a lot of heartache here,â he posited. âAnd we want a new beginning, something different, something new.â

Why Kody Brown Feels He Failed at Plural Marriage
Though Kody felt his love should be multipliedâcommitting to four different wivesâhis attention wasnât divided all that equally. âI felt like I was devoted to our family and to plural marriage, but then I struggled to be devoted specifically to every single wife and vice versa,â he reasoned on the Oct. 19 episode. âI donât think the wives were devoted to me or to each other as a whole.â

Among his missteps, he guessed, was setting up Robyn in her $1.65 million, five-bedroom Flagstaff home while other spouses were making do with less. âI donât know what went wrong,â he said of ending his unions to Meri, Janelle and Christine, âbut I know that I stirred up a jealousy putting her in this house. My wives, in whatever way, couldnât handle that I was willing to fight so much to make sure that Robyn was safely kept.â

Christine Brown Says It Was âA Lot of Workâ Being Married to Kody Brown
For Christine, it was hard to take it easy with Kody. âWe were married to a guy that was a lot of work,â she mused on the Oct. 26 episode. âHe had a lot of things that he liked and a lot of specifics, like certain dietary restrictions, his grooming and things like that.â
Bottom line, she noted, âIt was a lot.â
Enough that Janelle isnât exactly looking to multiply her love after their split. âI think maybe Kody was a lot of work,â she told Christine and her now-husband David Woolley. âSo I think that a relationship must be really hard.â
Which is why sheâs so resistant to Davidâs urges for her to sign up for FarmersOnly, telling cameras, âDavid just canât handle that Iâm just not going to go date because Iâm like, dude, I, no, no, no.â

Christine Brown Says Kody Brown Sometimes Called Her By the Wrong Name
Kody was quite careful not to call his wives every name in the book. âKody would rarely slip up and call us the wrong name,â Christine insisted in the Nov. 2 episode. âThereâs certain moments you donât want to hear another womanâs name. You know those moments that Iâm talking about. Never happened.â
Though there were some close calls.
âI would catch myself a lot,â Kody admitted. âAnd Iâve certainly done it. I had a way of starting it sometimes and then pivoting.â

Christine Brown Felt Betrayed By Robyn Brown
To hear Christine tell it, she felt quite stabbed in the kidney by her former sister wife.
âI feel betrayed by Robyn,â she detailed to David on the Nov. 2 episode âI felt like I could never really trust her, ever.â The issue, she explained to cameras, is that she âwould tell her things that I thought were in confidence and then Iâd get in trouble for them and Kody would get mad. I canât trust her. So I stopped confiding in her.â
But Robyn insisted she was just trying to play marriage counselor.
âChristine would say to me, âI wish Kody would know this. I wish Kody would understand this. Iâm struggling with this,’â she explained. âMe being kind of a naive fool, I thought I could help, but I should have just stayed out of it completely.â

Meri Brown Had to Draw âHard Boundariesâ With Ex Kody Brown
Once somewhat charmed by her stance as Kodyâs favorite ex-wife, Meri wasnât interested in indulging any of her former husbandâs attempts at small talk when he scheduled a video chat to discuss the potential sale of their Arizona property.
âI donât know what happened with Meri because I remember helping her move to her place in Parowan, Utah, and it was all fun and games and cordial,â he mused of their shared chat with Janelle on the Nov. 2 episode. âAnd since then to now, itâs got weird.â
But Meri insisted she was just focused on business, not pleasure after taking in what Kody had said to cameras in previous seasons.
âI just had to draw some really hard boundaries,â she explained. âAnd when we get on this video call and heâs being all friendly and trying to act like things are normal after some of the things that he has said to and about me and my friends, thatâs not going to fly.â

Kody Brown Felt He Should Have Been Able to Vet Christine Brownâs Husband David Woolley

In fact, he mused, he âshould have had the right, even, to discriminate David.â

Janelle Brown Doesnât Think Sheâll Get Back the Money She Loaned Kody Brown and Robyn Brown
Excited about recouping her share of Coyote Pass, Janelle wasnât about to howl over losing the money sheâd given Robyn and Kody for their five-bedroom Arizona home.
While her kids âfeel like I should pursue the money that I put into Robynâs house,â she shared in the Nov. 2 episode, âitâs going to be a fight.â
Should she try to get the money out of Kody, she continued, âThereâs always a billion reasons why he doesnât owe it.â
Exhibit A: His feeling that heâd already repaid that particular favor. âJanelle helped Robyn and I buy our house and I settled that debt with Janelle back in January,â he insisted. âAnd she just stated to me after that was done in January or February, she said, âOur debt is settled, youâre good with me. It was more than fair.’â

Kody Brown Still Has Women Asking to Join His Family
Should Kody still be interested in having his love multiplied, thereâs no shortage of options.
As he revealed to Robyn on the Nov. 2 episode, âI got another one of those emails from some woman talking about plural marriage.â
The unnamed person was âkind of chastising me for deciding to quit plural marriage,â he explained to his sole remaining bride. And then she offered up her services. âSheâs calling me out,â Kody explained to Robyn, âand then asking sort of like to get to know us for the purpose of joining the family.â
Truthfully, it wasnât an immediate no from Robyn, who admitted in a confessional, âFor a split second, I think, âOh, wouldnât this be great? This is what Iâve always wanted for my life.â And, âHmm, would they fit.’â
Ultimately, though, it was a no.
âI find it very inappropriate that they would send it to Kody,â she explained of her issue with the outreach. âItâs not usually proper to go hitting on a guy. You have to go through the sister wives.â

Seems Janelle didnât just want the man, she truly wanted the family. When she wed Kody three years into his union with Meriâafter briefly being married to Meriâs brotherââThereâs so many emotions surrounding that,â Meri recounted during the Nov. 9 episode. âI always felt like when Janelle got married, she was being really cool in the way that she was like including me and she didnât want to hurt my feelings.â
At the time, Meri was filled with jealousy and other emotions as they tried âto figure out, like, how to do this plural marriage thing,â she acknowledged. âAnd that always made me feel very special that she did that.â

Meri Brown Says Kody Brown and Robyn Brown Wanted Her to Sign a Confidentiality Agreement
Meri isnât one to be silenced. But things got hairy when the family hammered out a deal to sell Coyote Passâthe 14-acre property they purchased when they moved to Arizona.
âI think the issue was getting our names put on the appropriate pieces of properties,â Meri explained during the Nov. 16 episode. âThere was a lot of conversation surrounding that and I donât know why it couldnât just be signed on.â
She was also puzzled by another of Kodyâs moves.
âHeâs putting the whole fâking thing on me that I slowed it down, that Iâm the problem,â she detailed angrily. âBut it had to do with the fact that they were trying to get me to sign a confidentiality agreement that I was not willing to agree to. Why do you want me to sign a confidentiality agreement? Why are you trying to silence me?â
To hear Robyn tell it, though, their discussions were nothing to howl about.
âMeri and I have always been able to talk pretty frankly with each other,â she explained. âI was really just trying to find out what she needed and it really, like my intention is always in her best interest.â

Robyn Brown Says She And Kody Brown Had âBig Fightsâ About Coyote Pass
When it came to the eventual sale of Coyote Pass, Robyn said she was willing to be the big bad wolf. âThis has been important to me to make sure that everybody was treated fairly in this situation,â she explained on the Nov. 23 episode after insisting that she, Kody, Janelle and Meri each walk away with a quarter of the profits. âSo, yeah, I fought him. I had some pretty big fights with him about it.â
In the end, noted Kody, when the 14-acre parcel sold in April 2025, âWe just said, OK, weâll just do the best we can to clear this up and make it. You just get everybody their 25 percent.â

Janelle Brown Feels Kody Brown Stopped Working at His Marriages
While Janelle stopped short of suggesting Kody went through a mid-life crisis, she shared on the Nov. 23 episode that something shifted once he hit his milestone birthday.
Happily ensconced with fourth wife Robyn at that point, âKody turned 50 and all of a sudden he started making all this noise about he was carrying the whole family and I think he had this wife who just was his soulmate or whatever,â Janelle detailed, explaining that he felt maintaining four unions was âtoo exhausting.â
But Kody took issue with the idea that he didnât put in the work.
âI never shirked my responsibilities ever in this family,â he insisted in his own confessional. âI was always there and I gave 110 percent every time. I felt like I wasnât getting that from the rest of my family.â
And, with three soon-to-be ex wives pushing him to change, âI guess we all went through menopause together,â he added, âbecause there is such thing as male menopause and my testosterone probably just fell to the floor and I just didnât want to do the hard work anymore.â

Janelle Brown Says Her Mom Married Kody Brownâs Dad to Try to âSaveâ Her From Polygamy
If you canât beat âem, join âem? Thatâs the stance Janelleâs mom Sheryl Usher seemed to take when she first learned her daughter was exploring plural marriage. âMy mom came to save me from the polygamists because no daughter of hers was going to marry some into some crazy cult,â Janelle detailed on the seriesâ Nov. 30 episode. But instead of driving a wedge between Janelle and her soon-to-be husband, âShe ended up marrying Kodyâs dad,â Janelle continued of Sherylâs October 1992 vows to Winn Brown, âand they actually got married three months before we did.â
Admittedly, their union made the family tree a bit more complicated. âWhen they decided to get married, I was like, thatâs going to be a little hard to explain, but all right,â Janelle acknowledged. âIt was a little weird at first, but Iâm like, OK, itâs great. Christine Brown and Kody Brown Are Distant Cousins
Christine and Kody may have ended their marriage, but theyâll always be family. Literally. âThird cousins, once removed is fully legal,â she explained on the Dec. 28 episode. âIâm third cousins once removed from Kody.â
The connection became something of a family joke, shared Janelle, âbut they are so distantly related, itâs ridiculous. I think in the polygamist families, this kind of stuff happens all the time. It wasnât the kind of relationship where you saw each other at a family reunion, like, it was a very distant relationship. But they would always joke about being cousins. It just is a small community.â
